RE:RE:RE:Chasing cats and the Gentle Leader
Posted by Alex - 2/Jan/2009
Hya, we have a rottie and she was definitely one that like to tow us around out on walks should she find something interesting. We bought a halti and found that it only worked at certain times and if she really wanted to, she will still tow us on a walk. We then called a trainer called Noel (Canine Co-operation), I must admit at first I was some what dubious as the first trainer we had really did't do anything. But the way Noel trained us (yes! He trains the trainers and its up to the trainers then to teach the dog good habits), after 20 minutes of doing what he said we were already seeing huge improvement. It's not only a couple of weeks later, we can now walk our dog on a loose lead of a bit more than 5mm in diameter. So no more choking and she willingly walks right beside us and does not go off chasing things at random.
